Green Corridors and US Government Investment in Clean Energy

While there is no single scope for a Green Shipping Corridor (GSC), there are effective frameworks for initiating, developing, and implementing GSCs in alignment with international agreements (like the Clydebank Declaration), U.S. Department of State guidance on GSCs, and the EU Hydrogen Strategy. GSCs are collaborative initiatives among like-minded stakeholders focused on accelerating decarbonization for maritime operations along specific routes or in specific regions, and each GSC can uniquely focus on a set of specific goals for a specific set of maritime operations along a commercial route or through a defined region.
